IchiBen - Pearl City, Oahu Hawaii

After tooling around looking for a place to eat I was really hungry and decided on the IchiBen (despite it's weird name) after looking at the menu. I had several places in mind and when I got there all were out of business. The Hawaiian Islands have been hit hard by the bad economy.
The IchiBen has great reviews and was a clean diner type restaurant serving Japanese and Korean food. They are famous for their homemade Ramen, the homemade noodles and broth. I did not have those but would try it again.
For cleanliness and appearance I give the store a 2.5 out of 4 just because it was kind of low budget on the appearance but nothing wrong with it, and it was clean. For food, I give it a 3.5, very good, very tasty and I could tell a lot of care goes into the recipe's.

I had the Marinated chicken breast and short ribs combo. Both were very good, especially the sauces. The ribs were sliced thin, and done nicely. The veggies were fresh, the rice was sticky which I am not a big fan of but it had a great taste, slightly sweet.

High marks, good service, very friendly well done. I'd go back in a heart beat. I am curious as to what Ichi means. There was more than one restaurant on the Island with that in the name.
Please pardon the photo it is a bit fuzzy and won't post right side up.
For some reason when I save this it turns it sideways.
